I began this blog in May, 2013, when Alison Zych and I took a group of students from Northpoint Expeditionary Learning Academy in Prescott, Arizona, to Cambodia and Vietnam for three weeks. However, the majority of the blog’s initial entries documented my Fund for Teachers Fellowship in India during June and July, 2013, when I researched Indian music and scouted areas for a student trip to India.
Since then, I have continued the blog with sporadic entries while teaching at Four Rivers Charter Public School in Greenfield, Massachusetts. In July, 2014, I returned to Cambodia to continue my research into traditional Cambodian music, and I have continued the blog while here. When I return to the United States, the blog will likely shift back toward considerations of teaching and pedagogy.
Thank you for visiting and reading my thoughts on travel, teaching, and ethnomusicology. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or comments.
